Responsibilities:

The department is responsible for post market monitoring of the drugs and pharmaceutical preparations, guarantee its quality and safety, as well as continuous evaluation of the marketed pharmaceutical preparations and management of the national center for Pharmacovigilance.


Tasks:

  1. The gathering and evaluation of adverse drug reactions, and the management of a spontaneous reporting system.
  2. Surveillance of high incidence side effects.
  3. The gathering and Publication of the mechanisms of side effects and the risk
    factors that increase the incidence of said side effects.
  4. Perform Pharmacoepidemiology studies.
  5. Providing up to date information to health professionals regarding safety of pharmaceutical products.
