Pharmacovigilance Center

Pharmacovigilance center is concerned with detection, assessment and prevention of adverse drug reaction "ADR".

Objectives of the center

  1. Early detection of adverse drug reactions.
  2. Detection of increase in frequency of (known) adverse reaction.
  3. Identification of risk factors and possible mechanisms underlying adverse reactions.
  4. Estimation of quantitative aspects of benefit/risk analysis and dissemination of information needed to improve drug prescribing and regulation.
  5. Prevention of adverse drug reactions.
  6. Drug quality surveillance.
  7. Encouraging rational and safe use of drugs.
  8. Communication with international institutions working in pharmacovigilance.
