Mission:

Our mission is to provide evidence-based drug & poison information to improve the lives of the citizens of Saudi Arabia.

Objectives:

• Building a comprehensive, internet based National Drug & Poison information Center.
• Providing evidence-based drug and poison information to both public and healthcare professionals.
• Providing evidence-based information on poison management and prevention.
• Publishing drug information newsletters specifically for public and healthcare professionals.
• Contribute to the peer reviewed scientific literature.
• Providing both experiential and didactic training in drug information for both pharmacy students and SFDA staff.

Responsibilities:

• Responding to drug information requests from the public, policy makers and healthcare professionals.
• Participating in developing and maintaining the Saudi National Formulary (SNF).
• Participating in the development of national drug policies.
• Providing 24hrs poison information services.
• Remain current on topics of drug safety and effectiveness worldwide.
• Participating in public health education and awareness programs.
• Participating in clinical trials protocol evaluation.
