The President of the Indonesian Drug and Food Authority Visited the SFDA

The SFDA held a meeting with the president of the Indonesian Drug and Food Authority, aiming to exchange experiences between the two countries concerning having more control about the safety of imported food and drug. The President of the Indonesian Drug and Food Authority Dr. Hassina was informed about the mechanisms of registering drugs and the National Drug and Poison Information Center. Dr. Mohammad Alkanhal, the Executive President of the SFDA stated that they have discussed the Indonesian experience in field of registering food as it is from among the few countries that register food and drug; they have more than 80 thousand food items as well as 88 thousand cosmetic items which all are registered. He added that they ought to insure the safety of food imported from Indonesia in the future and have best methods in inspecting food. From her part, Dr. Hassina stated in a journalistic report after her visit, that they are studying the procedures of registration and conditions needed to start cooperation between the two countries.
