The SFDA Organizes Workshops about Regulating Cosmetics in the Kingdom

The drug sector of the SFDA, cooperating with the Chambers of Commerce in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam, intends to hold three workshops entitled (Regulating Cosmetics in the Kingdom), the first workshop will be held in Riyadh on Saturday, 12-5-1429H that equals 17-5-2008, in the Chamber of Commerce headquarter, starting from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. The second workshop is going to be held in Jeddah on Wednesday, 23-5-1429H that equals 28-5-2008, in the Chamber of Commerce headquarter, starting from 9a.m. until 12p.m. However, the third workshop will be organized in Dammam on Wednesday 30-5-1429H that equals 4-6-2008, in the Chamber of Commerce headquarter from 9 a.m. to 12p.m.
The workshops aim to participate with the private sectors in setting and reviewing the regulations and lists of monitoring cosmetics. During the workshops, several important issues will be discussed, as the content of the cosmetics suggested regulation in the Kingdom, reviewing the rules of importing, manufacturing, admitting and storing cosmetics, deceiving of cosmetics and notifying about it, the role of distributors and factors as well as recognizing the procedures of controlling cosmetics of other international controlling authorities and make use of them.
From his part, Dr. Mohammad bin Ahmad Alkanhal, the Executive President of the SFDA confirmed that these workshops reflect the importance of relative authorities participation in setting basics of cosmetic rules in accordance with the strategic plan of the SFDA. The vice President of Drug Affairs clarified that the idea of organizing such workshops raised from the concept of transparency as well as making use of relative authorities experiences and participating them in setting the regulations. He explained too that the participants will be informed about the strategic directions of the SFDA in regard of
monitoring cosmetics and their visions will be taken into account through these workshops.
