National Nutrition Committee Holds Fifth Meeting of Its Third Session
The National Nutrition Committee held the fifth meeting of its third session, chaired by H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) and Chairman of the Committee. Members from government and private-sector entities, along with nutrition consultants, attended the meeting.
Opening the virtual session, Dr. Aljadhey welcomed attendees. The Committee’s General Secretariat then presented progress reports on active projects and initiatives within the Committee's scope. Members also reviewed updates on the work plans of the communication and technical subcommittees, as well as outcomes from the National Food Composition Database initiative.
The National Nutrition Committee is a scientific advisory body dedicated to improving the Kingdom’s nutritional status and fostering a healthier society. Established within the SFDA's organizational structure by Cabinet Decision No. 144 on 5/3/1440 AH, the committee provides expert scientific opinions on nutrition to relevant entities. It comprises representatives from various government entities, private-sector leaders, and a distinguished group of consultants and nutrition specialists.
