160 Scientific Studies Chart the Course for Development at the SFDA Regulatory Research Day

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) organized its Regulatory Research Day 2025 event on Monday at its headquarters in Riyadh. The event was attended by the CEO of the SFDA, H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, along with a number of researchers, officials, and representatives from scientific institutions.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Aljadhey praised the participants, emphasizing the importance of regulatory research in developing the scientific environment and its contribution to fostering growth and innovation across various fields. He noted that the SFDA gives special attention to scientific research as a fundamental pillar in achieving sustainable development and enhancing the Saud Arabia’s scientific standing at both the regional and international levels.

Dr. Aljadhey commended the participating researches, pointing out that the SFDA's reliance on advanced technologies in its research has contributed to enhancing the quality of studies and enabled it to achieve a leading position among its counterparts worldwide.

The event featured 32 scientific research papers presented by 20 external entities, in addition to 128 papers from within the Authority. The Regulatory Research Day also included five lectures on artificial intelligence in supporting the regulatory system and two workshops on research knowledge management.

Through Regulatory Research Day, the SFDA aims to develop scientific research methodologies, create an environment conducive to growth and innovation, strengthen the Saudi Arabia’s scientific leadership globally, and achieve its goals of building a healthy society, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The Authority
