SFDA in Health Sector Transformation Program (HSTP)


SFDA participates in HSTP through the following initiatives:

    1. Establish Halal Center: The initiative aims to establish a global center for food and various Halal products to grant Halal certificates and accreditation. This initiative contributes to achieving Vision 2030 Strategic Objective 2.1.3 Strengthen prevention against health threats.
    2. Pesticide Residue Inspection Center: The initiative aims to establish, equip, and operate laboratories to examine pesticide residues in vegetables and fruit. This initiative contributes to achieving Vision 2030 Strategic Objective 2.1.3 Strengthen prevention against health threats.
    3. Establish a Unified Electronic System: The initiative aims to develop and standardize registration, licensing, inspection, clearance, export, and enforcement procedures for investors in all SFDA sectors. This initiative contributes to achieving Vision 2030 Strategic Objective 2.1.2 Improving the quality and efficiency of health services.
    4. Interactive Awareness Programs: The initiative aims to establish specialized awareness campaigns based on the needs and level of awareness of the target groups, as well as programs to introduce the role and regulations of the SFDA. This initiative contributes to achieving Vision 2030 Strategic Objective 2.1.3 Strengthen prevention against health threats.
    5. Establish Track and Trace Electronic System: The initiative aims to establish an e-tracking system for pharmaceuticals so that their distribution can be tracked to ensure their safety and availability within the market. This initiative contributes to achieving Vision 2030 Strategic Objective 2.1.2 Improving the quality and efficiency of health services.
