The National Nutrition Committee (NNC) held the third meeting of its third session on Wednesday, chaired by the CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) and Chairman of the Committee, H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey. The meeting was attended by committee members representing various government and private sector entities.
Dr. Aljadhey opened the meeting, held at the SFDA headquarters in Riyadh, by welcoming the newly joined member entities: the Research, Development, and Innovation Authority (RDIA), the Culinary Arts Commission, and the General Food Security Authority (GFSA). He emphasized that strengthening institutional integration is vital to supporting Saudi Arabia’s nutrition and public health systems.
During the meeting, the Committee Secretariat presented the Strategic Performance Report for projects and activities conducted during the fourth quarter of 2025. The session also reviewed key recommendations from subcommittees aimed at advancing national policies and initiatives.
The National Nutrition Committee is a scientific advisory body dedicated to improving the nutritional and health status of Saudi Arabia and fostering a society that adopts healthy dietary patterns. It fulfills this mission by providing specialized scientific recommendations to relevant authorities and stakeholders. Established within the SFDA's organizational structure by Council of Ministers Resolution No. 144, the committee comprises representatives from several government agencies, leading consultants, nutrition specialists, and private sector representatives.
