2026-03-31
The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), represented by the National Nutrition Committee (NNC), has officially launched the Saudi Food Composition Database. Developed in collaboration with the Health Sector Transformation Program, this strategic initiative aims to empower researchers, healthcare practitioners, and the general public to make informed, health-conscious dietary choices.
The database serves as a comprehensive reference, providing detailed nutritional profiles for traditional Saudi foods and local dishes. It includes data on calories, carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, and fiber; based on approved scientific methodologies and high-quality standards.
This launch is a key milestone in the SFDA’s ongoing mission to modernize food and nutrition policies, elevate community health awareness, and drive the digital transformation of the Saudi Arabia’s health and food sectors in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
