2026-01-26

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) recorded significant growth in the number of licensed factories and warehouses during 2025, achieving a 18% increase compared to 2024. This growth reflects the ongoing development of the regulatory environment, the empowerment of the industrial sector, and the expansion of investment support within the SFDA’s scope of work.

According to official statistics, the total number of licensed facilities reached 9,155 in 2025, up from 7,750 in 2024.

A sectoral breakdown of the data shows 624 factories and 5,344 warehouses in the Food Sector; 25 factories and 1,313 warehouses in the Medical Devices Sector; and 43 factories and 831 warehouses in the Cosmetics Sector. Furthermore, the Drug Sector contains 9 factories and 568 warehouses, while the Animal Feed Sector accounts for 45 factories and 353 warehouses.

This upward trend is a direct result of the SFDA’s efforts to enhance regulatory efficiency, streamline licensing procedures, and raise compliance levels. These initiatives contribute significantly to national economic development goals and ensure sustainability across these vital sectors. The SFDA reaffirms its ongoing commitment to achieving these national objectives in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
