The CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), H.E. Prof. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, led the Authority's delegation participating in the 41st Annual Meeting of the International Society of Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE), which took place in Washington, D.C., from August 22 to 26. The meeting was attended by a number of heads and representatives of counterpart drug regulatory authorities from around the world.
The ISPE aims to promote safety by providing a global forum for the open exchange of scientific information, policy development, and education in the field of pharmacoepidemiology, including areas such as pharmacovigilance, efficacy review, and therapeutic risk management.
The ISPE also organizes a neutral scientific forum that allows for the presentation of diverse views from all parties involved in drug development and use. Its members represent various scientific disciplines in the field of medicine, in addition to their work in academic institutions, government agencies, and for-profit and non-profit organizations.
The SFDA’s participation is part of its efforts to enhance its leading role in drug regulation, leverage global expertise in developing this vital sector, and strengthen its strategic partnerships with relevant entities.
