Saudi Food and Drug Authority signed a memorandum of understanding with the Security Forces Hospital in Riyadh to establish pharmacovigilance office, which will be directly connected to the National Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety Center in the Authority.

Also, SFDA conducted 105935 audits of cosmetic products listing applications. The number of cosmetic products listed by SFDA reached 67254 while the rejected applications were 1089 and the incomplete applications were 7690.
SFDA had taken measures to ensure the availability of asthma treatment and other chest diseases treatments.
SFDA was noticed diminishing quantities in the local market for these products, a subsidiary of one during the past short period, so it made a contact with the manufacturing company and agent, and the lack of supply for these products was because of administrative problems between the manufacturer and distributor company.
