​Saudi FDA warns the public from purchasing drugs, health and herbal products via the internet and not to be deceived by misleading promotions on some websites that sell drugs, health and herbal products of unknown origin and tat are not registered by SFFDA. Such drugs and products could be highly dangerous as their manufacturing conditions or pharmaceutical contents are unknown, besides, no quality assurance and efficacy measures exist.

Contraceptive® SFDA Safety Communication about Using Yasmin

SFDA, represented by its Drug Sector, warned about the risk of developing Venous thromboembolism (VTE) when using contraceptives containing drospirenone, e.g.Yasmin® , the sole contraceptive registered in the Kingdom that contains this substance. The warning included the increasing risk when using this product by patients with risk factors or VTE history.

SFDA Warns about “ Radwa Drops” Potable Water due to exceeding the allowed limit of Bromates

Saudi Food & Drug Authority (SFDA) has recently collected several samples of potable drinking water produced locally, for several runs and production dates in order to determine their compliance with GCC Standard Specification No. 1025/2009 for potable drinking water, which identified the allowed Bromate limit by 10ppm. The result of laboratory tests of Radwa Drops potable drinking water samples, produced and packed by Radwa Drops potable water factory of Yanbu Al Bahr province, revealed that it has exceed the maximum allowed limit of Bromate referred to above.
