H.E The Minister of Planning & Economy, Dr. Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al Jasser and his delegation visited today SFDA Head Office where he was received by H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Kanhal, CEO of Saudi Food & Drug Authority, his Vice Presidents & Assistants . The visit comes in line with cooperation of Government entities, synergy and utilization of available resources.

Saudi Food & Drugs Authority organized “Eid Al Fitre” reception party for its employees on 7/10/1433H  at its Head Office in presence of H.E. CEO of the Saudi Food & Drug Authority Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Kanhal and a number of SFDA VPs , Senior Staff and employees from the various sectors. The attendees exchanged Eid greetings and socialized in this event wishing this country continuous pride, welfare, dignity  and prosperity while wishing the same for Arab and Islamic Nations.

SFDA will continue its business during Eid Al Fitre holidays in its main offices and sub-branches as well as points of entry of food, drug and medical devices & products sectors in order to complete work processes during Eid Al Fitre holidays in all critical sites.

SFDA confirmed that its inspectors will continue with their control and inspection role on food, drug and medical devices & products during the holidays.. Meanwhile, follow up of some works and transactions and inquiries can be completed through SFDA Website.

SFDA has successfully passed the international standards ISO 27001 test for the best practices and applications of Information Security Management System (ISMS). This phase of ISO 27001 renewal included additional of new levels to the scope of the certificate including other critical systems of SFDA, where the certificate was renewed for the next three years, until 2015.

A student delegation from “Mawhiba Program”  visited SFDA on  4/8/1433H where students met with SFDA Sector employees and listened to an introduction program about the Sector’s functions and various divisions as well as its role in assuring drug safety. The students were also introduced to drug registration cycle and general information about pharmaceutical industry.

​The fifth drug awareness session will be launched by SFDA Drug Sector for 1433 Summer, in a different style this year. Mr. Abdul Rahman Sultan Al Sultan, pharmacist, Director of Consumer Awareness Department said that the drug awareness program activities for this Summer will be exceptional as the Cartoon Character “Haboub“, the main children awareness character, will be introduced to match this event.

​ SFDA staff and employees expressed their pride  by appointing HRH Prince Sulman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud as Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense to continue the journey of development and progress side by side with The Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz. SFDA expressed their pleasure with HRH’s consideration and support to SFDA which encouraged it to proceed with its role in serving people.

​SFDA Food Sector , represented by Communications & Awareness Executive Department, organized  along  a series of projects, The 1st.  Food Safety & Preservation Awareness Exhibition on 8/8/1433 launched in several Malls in Riyadh and Jeddah. The purpose of the exhibition is to reach out to the largest family communities and make them aware of the most appropriate food safety and preservation practices within and outside home. The exhibition was erected in Garanda and Othaim Malls and then Panorama & Hayat Malls.
