SFDA launched today, Sunday, 17 Shaban 1435H, its 3rd Annual Blood Donation Campaign in coordination with King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh. H.E. Vice President of SFDA, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Almishal and a number of SFDA Executives & employees from its three sectors ( Food, Drug and Medical Devices), contributed to the campaign in its first day , and that the campaign will continue for five days.
SFDA has registered the Food Product No. 100k in its electronic program for registration of imported food, which was launched 5 months ago. H.E. The Chief Executive Officer of SFDA, Dr. Mohamed bin Abdul Rahman Almishal, clicked the “Approval Icon” for registration of product No.100K, which is expected to reach 200K by the end of this year.
SFDA announced that analysis result of Cadbury chocolate samples ,available in the Saudi market, proved that they are free from Swine DNA .SFDA started, two days ago, urgent precautionary measures , by collecting samples of the these products, after the news saying that they contain Swine DNA. The samples contained different Lot Numbers produced by other countries e.g. Malaysia, to analyze them and make sure that they are free of Swine DNA.
The activities of the 9th. version of Drug Awareness Caravan in Balassmar, Tanumah and Namas public hospitals have recently come to an end in the Southern Region. The caravan targeted the small cities and provinces that have less drug awareness campaigns.
Egypt ambassador to the Kingdom, Abdul Wahab Afifi, highlighted the strong mutual relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Egypt which culminated to a high degree of cooperation between the two countries based on the deep common and historical mutual relations.
SFDA participated in the recognition event of the 7th Batch of The Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Students ,and its associated exhibition, held in Washington, USA in the period 24-27 May 2014 and under the auspice of H.E. Minister of High Education, DR. Khaled Al Anqari and the Saudi Cultural Attaché, the Saudi Ambassador to USA, Mr. Adel Al Jobair and the cultural attaché in the Saudi Embassy.
A French delegation of Medical Devices & Products Manufacturers visited the Medical Devices & Products Sector at SFDA Head office yesterday 22 Rajab 1435H (21 May 2014). The delegation was received by Dr. Saleh bin Suleiman Al Tayar, Vice President for Medical Devices& Products Sector who delivered a brief presentation about medical devices and products control regulations in the Kingdom and investments opportunities in medical devices & products sector.
In continuation of Drug Awareness Program, organized by Drug Sector, the 9th version of the Caravan will be launched next week 26/7/1434H at 9:00 AM and will visit Balassmar, Tanumah & Namas provinces in Southern Region.
