His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Alkanhal, the acting vice executive president of the SFDA, and his Excellency Dr. Ibraheem bin Saad Almuhaize, the vice executive president of food affairs, have traveled to Berlin and Frankfort in Germany; in order to visit some laboratories that inspect food as well as some land borders of Germany which receive imported food to Germany and the European Union.

Responding to the invitation of the American Agriculture Ministry, his Excellency the vice executive president of food affairs in the SFDA Dr. Ibraheem bin Saad Almuhaize, has visited the USA with a delegation belongs to the GCC Committee of Food Safety from 3-10\6\1429H, that equals 7-14\6\2008, in order to meet officials in the Ministry and the FDA in charge of monitoring food to discuss several mutual issues between the GCC and the USA in regard of food safety and monitoring imported food.

The SFDA electronic website (www. sfda.gov.sa) has completed its second year with noticeable progress as the number of its informational and educational subjects has increased impressively to 2025 subject; the main page has 210 news, food page has 67 news while drug page contains 332 news and the medical devices one has 24 news to sum up with 633 news. This concern of the SFDA reflects its willingness toward informing the citizens about all news in different SFDA field since its website is being updated currently and

His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Alkanhal the acting vice executive president of the SFDA inaugurated the first session of discussing food regulation items in the headquarter of Chamber of Commerce in Riyadh, and revealed that the duty of monitoring imported food is about to be transformed completely from the Ministry of Commerce to the SFDA within two months, confirming that the coming duties will be monitoring food plants then food establishments that selling food to consumers directly.
