HRH Prince Sulman bin Abdul Aziz received at his office in Riyadh Governorate H.E Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Kanhal , President of Saudi Food & Drug Authority and a number of SFDA senior management, general managers and directors who came to greet His Royal Highness.
H.E Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Kanhal , President of Saudi Food & Drug Authority, received at his office today, a delegation from UAE’s Ministry of Health comprising Dr. Salem Al Barmaki, the acting General Director of the Ministry of Health and Dr. Nariman Al Mulla, Consultant to HE Health Minister, in order to view and benefit from the Saudi Food & Drug experience in this field.
The Drug Safety & Alerts department of the Saudi FDA intends to organize a series of awareness and educational workshops targeting Health specialists including doctors, pharmacists and nurses to introduce them to the department’s role . The workshops will be held in several hospitals in Riyadh, at the first stage, and then will be generalized at the Kingdom’s level.
The Saudi Food & Drug Authority (SFDA) will participate in a one –day scientific forum that will be organized by the Nutrition Department of the Ministry of Health, under the auspice of HE Minister of Health , Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Rabiya’h, entitled “Food that have Alleged Medication”, on Wednesday 27/01/1431AH , corresponding to 13/01/2010G at King Fahad Cultural Center
H.E Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Rabiya’h, Health Minister, Chairman of Health Services Council visited SFDA on Sunday 24/1/1431AH. His Excellency the Minister and the members of Health Services Council viewed SFDA strategy and the planning and building methodology adopted by SFDA, for several years , related to Food, Drug and Medical Devices Sectors, their goals, objectives and the business approach implemented by SFDA; and its challenging plans aiming to be present at all points of entry throughout the Kingdom.
H.E. Crown Prince of Denmark , Prince Fredric and the accompanying delegation visited SFDA Saturday. H.E. was welcomed by Dr. Mohammed Al Kanhal, CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority who accompanied him to the SFDA Reception Hall where memorial photographs were taken and speeches were exchanged. The two parties then signed a document for food re-export between Denmark and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
ضمن الجهود التي تبذلها الهيئة العامة للغذاء والدواء لضمان سلامة وجودة واستيفاء الأجهزة والمنتجات الطبية المورده للمملكة لإشتراطات الهيئة ممثلة بقطاع الأجهزة والمنتجات الطبية فقد تمكن موظفوها في المنافذ الحدودية من رفض دخول 1384 مادة أجهزة مخبرية وتشخيصية وردت ضمن 16 شحنة خلال الربع الأخير من عام 1430هـ المتزامن مع بدأ تواجد موظفيها في المنافذ الحدودية وذلك لاسباب عدة أهمها سوء ظروف تخزينها وتعارضها مع إشتراطات التخزين الموصى بها من قبل الشركات المصنعة.

تنظم الهيئة العامة للغذاء والدواء ممثلة بقطاع الغذاء ورشة عمل عن " لجنة التدابير الصحية والصحة النباتية (SPS) في منظمة التجارة العالمية وآلية عملها " وذلك يوم الاثنين 15/3/1431هـ الموافق 1/3/2010م بقاعة المحاضرات الرئيسية بالهيئة ابتداءً من الساعة التاسعة صباحاً.
وذلك انطلاقاً من حرص الهيئة العامة للغذاء والدواء بعقد ورش العمل والندوات والمحاضرات ذات العلاقة بمجال عملها.
انطلاقا من دور الهيئة العامة للغذاء و الدواء في متابعة ما يستجد من معلومات حول الأدوية المخدرة و المؤثرات العقلية فقد قامت الهيئة مؤخرًا بإعادة دراسة وتحديث الجداول المرافقة لنظام مكافحة المخدرات و المؤثرات العقلية الصادر بالمرسوم الملكي الكريم رقم م/39 وتاريخ 8/7/1426هـ. ونشرها في موقعها الإلكتروني على شبكة الإنترنت.
