The CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, reviewed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s experience in supporting drug availability for patients and beneficiaries. He highlighted the role of an integrated digital infrastructure and the reliance on artificial intelligence technologies to ensure the success of the initiative. His remarks were delivered today, Tuesday, during his virtual participation at the parallel program at the National Defense College in the Sultanate of Oman, entitled, "Health Security: Reality and Aspiration."

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) and King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU) have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) to establish a strategic partnership aimed at leveraging shared capabilities and expertise.

The signing ceremony took place on Tuesday, on the sidelines of the Global Health Exhibition 2025, currently being held at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center under the theme "Invest in Health," running until October 30.

The CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, launched the “Saudi Pharmacopoeia” on the sidelines of the SFDA's participation in the Global Health Exhibition (GHE) held at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham from October 27 to 30, under the theme “Invest in Health.”

The International Coalition of Medicines Regulatory Authorities (ICMRA) announced the full membership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA). This achievement makes the SFDA the first regulatory authority from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) to become full member in ICMRA.

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) will participate in the Global Health Exhibition 2025, set to take place at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham from October 27 to 30, under the theme “Invest in Health.”

Aljadhey, affirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the SFDA, is effectively integrating artificial intelligence technologies into drug regulatory work, thereby enhancing drug safety and quality. This effort is in line with Saudi Vision 2030, which focuses on innovation and the use of modern technologies to achieve the greatest impact.

Aljadhey, held several meetings with international counterparts on the sidelines of his participation in the International Coalition of Medicines Regulatory Authorities (ICMRA) Summit 2025, held in Amsterdam from October 21 to 23.

H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), affirmed that Saudi Vision 2030, which outlines an ambitious future for the Kingdom, is built on three key pillars: a vibrant society, a thriving economy, and an ambitious nation. He noted that the Kingdom has launched several national programs to help achieve these goals, including the Health Sector Transformation Program, which aims to enhance human health, improve access to healthcare services, and shift the focus from curative to preventive care.

H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), extended his heartfelt congratulations, on behalf of all the SFDA employees, to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, H.R.H. Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz on the Saudi national football team’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

H.E. Dr. Hisham S. Aljadhey, CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), met at the Authority’s headquarters in Riyadh with several chief executives and representatives of local and international pharmaceutical companies to discuss key issues and opportunities that will contribute to the growth and support of the pharmaceutical sector in the Kingdom.
